‘New’ boundary wall in White Lias stone, Radstock

Replacement of iron railings with stone wall bordering busy Radstock to Frome road. Work involved removal of railings, foundation work and construction of 15 metre long double-face wall with two pillars using 10 tonnes of freshly quarried White Lias stone from Lovells of Langport. Attractive wall capping is made up of cropped 'jumper' stones.

Stone-cladding : Cheddar

Stone cladding of double garage - using 'Red Rock Ledger Stone'. Project necessitated drilling through render into blockwork to secure 'expanded metal' mesh for additional strength.

Boundary wall : Oake, near Taunton

Boundary wall constructed in red sandstone to replace an untidy bank. Nearly 30 metres in length, the wall is just over 1 metre high and is backed by breeze blocks. Prominently located in the village of Oake near Taunton.

Lias stone wall rebuild, Taunton

Demolition and rebuild of lias - stone wall weakened by eucalyptus and holly tree roots. The wall separates two substantial Victorian properties and was rebuilt to the owners' complete satisfaction as well as that of their neighbours'. Additionally, the wall is now 'hedgehog-friendly'.

Hamstone & Lias wall build Castle Cary

Built for a friend in Castle Cary. The wall's purpose is to protect the garden from northerly winds. It has a lias stone base but the bulk of the wall is made up of hamstone .This is consistent with the stone-make-up of the farmhouse. A breeze-block backing for additional support, there are built-in 'bug hotels' & prominence is given to fossils.

Stone-facing of pond retaining walls, Dundry

After the creation of a series of tiered ponds in a gulley overlooking Bristol, the 'dam' walls were faced with natural stone. Joints were recessed to allow plants nurture within the wall.
