Mark is a very professional stonemason. He is very confident and takes time to understand exactly what you require. In our case is was the building and repair of a very old cottage wall and footpath in a conservation area. Mark did a fantastic job for us with building a stone wall, creating steps from new and also updating and extending some existing steps. Faced with a number of options for the wall (brick,railway sleepers or stone) , Mark made the decision easy with his enthusiasm to use existing materials and recycling to save money. We were impressed with the quality and responsiveness of his communications , his ideas and the accuracy of his quotes. We're delighted with the repointing and rebuilding work that Mark carried out on our stone garden perimeter walls. The rate at which the job was completed was impressive, with everything done to a high standard and in aesthetic keeping with the original walls and surroundings. Mark was dependable and would keep us informed of dates, any weather-enforced changes to plans, and progress at the end of each day. He has a detailed knowledge of the local area and his work helps keep it looking at its best - very highly recommended.

Mark did an outstanding job repairing and restoring my old double-arched stone bridge, and repairing an adjacent stone wall that was becoming unstable. He was always on time, always cleaned up after the day's work, and always listened and communicated really well. He brought not only real expertise and a good feel for the work, but a great attitude. Mark is a very professional, reliable, friendly and competitive contractor who made an excellent job of building a boundary wall for me out of natural stone. He ensured the wall was built to my requirements and gave me a full breakdown of costs. He also gave me regular updates to assure me that the job was going as planned. When the delivery of materials was not taking place as arranged he co-ordinated alternative arrangements to avoid any unnecessary delay. I would certainly recommend Mark to anyone who wants a job done properly.

Mark built for us a curved natural stone retaining wall on a sloping plot to hold a raised flower bed. He provided an excellent service from start to finish.

He engaged with us as we considered our options and provided alternative suggestions on garden layout, materials and cost saving areas.

He was always available by e-mail to discuss ideas and provided photographs of similar jobs to help us decide on what we wanted. He provided an accurate quote broken down into time and materials as requested.

I had a design that I wanted for my garden and Mark made this happen. He suggested alternative designs which I had not thought of which made an improvement on what I anticipated. Mark rebuilt a rough stone garden wall for me. Its foundations were sound but many of the stones had slipped and weeds were growing out of the cracks. Mark took the wall down, rebuilt it and repointed it. Not only has he done an excellent job but he was a pleasure to employ. He communicated patiently and efficiently with me every step of the way, explaining in detail what he planned to do and why. He told me when he would be working on my wall and he kept to his word. His estimate of the materials and time needed was spot on. He provided me with invoices from the builders' merchant to show the cost of materials used. He supplied some extra stone we needed at minimal cost. And he worked on a Saturday so the wall would be finished before we went on holiday. I would confidently recommend him to anyone and would not hesitate to employ him again.
